Fountain Room at Tapp’s to reopen this spring
Local entrepreneur Frederick Hogsett is working to reopen the restaurant in the basement of the Tapp’s Arts Center by April 1. He plans to serve lunch on weekdays and to provide dinner with live jazz music Thursday through Saturday.
Bridgestone’s Aiken plant celebrates 100-millionth tire
Bridgestone’s S.C. facility this week produced its 100-millionth tire since beginning operations in 1999. In 2011, the company announced two phases of expansion totaling more than $1 billion that will increase production capacity by 37,750 tires per day.
Former DuPont facility sold to PET recycler
The 948 acre-site, along with 32 buildings comprising 1.2 million square feet of space, has been purchased for $7.5 million by Florence Development LLC, a partnership of Faith Group Co. of New Jersey and Wisconsin-based Niagara Worldwide.
Congaree State Bank reports first full-year profit
The Cayce-based bank posted a $532,868 profit for 2011, compared with a loss of $298,557 in 2010. Congaree State Bank marked its fifth anniversary in October of last year.
Boeing VP releases S.C. production expectations
Randy Tinseth, vice president of marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said Boeing South Carolina is expected to be producing three Dreamliners each month by the end of 2013.
