German tire maker plans 1,700 jobs in Sumter County
Continental Tire North America, which has its headquarters in Fort Mill said today it plans to invest more than $500 million in a Sumter County tire manufacturing plant that will employ around 1,700 workers when the new facility begins operations in 2017.

Construction spending up 1.4%, contractors report
Construction spending increased by 1.4% between July and August and was up 0.9% compared with August 2010, the Associated General Contractors of America reported in an analysis of new Census Bureau data.
