Wells Fargo to complete conversion of S.C. banks
The California-based national bank officially becomes the largest bank in South Carolina in market share and deposits this weekend. Customers will still be able to use the same checks, ATM and credit cards that they had with Wachovia.
Moore School ranks No. 1 for international business
USC also was ranked No. 54 for public universities and featured in the section, “A-Plus Schools for B Students,” for a second year. And Clemson University was ranked No. 25 for public universities, for its commitment to student success, learning communities and writing in the disciplines.
Sonoco selected to Dow Jones Sustainability Index
Sonoco today announced that it has been selected to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the third consecutive year. This year's DJSI World Index includes 41 new companies, while 23 firms will be deleted, resulting in a total of 342 index components.
S.C. International Trade Conference kicks off
State Ports Authority CEO and President Jim Newsome, the head of the Panama Canal Authority and Gov. Nikki Haley spoke to the crowd about the state of harbor deepening project, the Panama Canal expansion and the state’s business climate at the event, which runs through Wednesday.
Agency gives Santee Cooper AA rating, stable outlook
Fitch Ratings graded $133 million in 2011 refunding revenue obligations bonds, expected to be sold today. Santee Cooper is issuing the bonds to refund some of the utility’s 2002 Series B bonds.
Nuclear Cluster Consortium receives SBA award
The $592,728 award will initiate the second year of the "Innovative Economies" contract, which was created by the SBA to help small businesses grow and meet critical gaps in industry supply chains.

The position will manage all research efforts, including compilation of data; and development of presentations, websites and marketing collateral.
