Pactiv to expand operations in Aiken County
The maker of foodservice and food packaging plans to expand its existing operations. The $5.5 million investment is expected to generate 25 new jobs over the next three years. Construction is scheduled to begin in February.
Southern First returns to profitability
The Greenville-based bank holding company said year-end net income to common shareholders was $944,000, reversing a loss of $235,000 the prior year. Net interest margin improved during the year, and the bank reported a decline in bad assets.
Amazon reaches 550 full-time hires at Cayce facility
The online retailer said it expects to hire more full-time employees later this year once construction and upgrades are finished at the distribution center in Cayce.
Volvo Rents expands into S.C. market
Volvo Rents acquired Blue Eagle Equipment, a S.C.-based equipment rental company with stores in Columbia, Greenville and Spartanburg. An official said the acquisition is part of Volvo Rents’ plan to move into various markets nationwide.
SCE&G issues debt offering of $250M
SCE&G said net proceeds from the bond sale will be used to finance capital expenditures, including costs to build two 1,100-megawatt reactor units at the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station.
BB&T promotes Teasdel to assistant VP
Ashely Teasdel, who joined the bank in 2005, is a financial center leader at BB&T’s 3401 Forest Drive office in Columbia. She has a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master’s in business administration.
