Director of state insurance department resignsDavid Black, former CEO of Liberty Life Insurance Co., resigned as director of the state Department of Insurance. Gov. Nikki Haley, who appointed Black on Jan. 20, plans to announce an interim director soon. Black did not say what led to his decision, according to reports. AvCraft Technical Services to expand in Horry CountyThe aircraft maintenance, repair and modification provider said it plans to expand its current operations in Horry County, invest $1 million and create 150 new jobs. Since 2009, South Carolina’s Department of Commerce has recruited more than $1.1 billion in capital investment and more than 7,000 jobs in the aerospace and aviation sector. |
SCDOR to offer debit card refunds this yearThe S.C. Department of Revenue said the prepaid debit card is intended to eventually replace paper checks, saving the state the cost of printing, mailing and processing. Taxpayers still have the option to receive a refund by paper check or direct deposit this tax year. Job of the WeekVerizon Wireless is seeking a full-time SQL server developer in Eglin. The position includes working on customer care related applications and data. The qualified candidate will have at least two years of ETL experience with multiple database technologies.
