BAE's Aiken plant to work on   combat vehicle upgrades

BAE Systems has been   awarded a contract to upgrade 353 Bradley Fighting Vehicles for a number of   state Army National Guard units, including South Carolina. Work on the   contract began earlier this month and is scheduled to be completed in 2014.

Continental unit acquires Parker   Hannifin division

The automotive supplier   said its ContiTech division has acquired Parker Hannifin’s automotive air   conditioning business. Parker’s mobile climate division is headquartered in   Collierville, Tenn., and none of its facilities in South Carolina is affected   by the transaction.

Spec buildings to require   creative funding

A tough lending   environment is forcing developers to come up with creative ways to finance   projects, said NAI Avant executives Todd Avant and Bruce Harper. Current   conditions would require a developer to charge higher rental rates than   average, they said.
