BMW adds $100M investment at Spartanburg Co. factory
BMW Manufacturing is adding another $100 million investment at the company’s Spartanburg County factory as well as a new X3 program to further streamline the company’s export operation. BMW President Josef Kerscher made the announcement Monday night in his keynote speech at the annual meeting of the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce.
First-time jobless claims on the decline
For the past month, South Carolina and the rest of the United States have seen a steady decline in the number of first-time unemployment claims, an indication of fewer layoffs. From Feb. 5-11, first-time claims fell 15% in South Carolina.
